ESG legal platform

GreenLedger

GreenLedger is an end-to-end platform for UK environmental law. It verifies carbon credits against the registry, runs the biodiversity net gain lifecycle, and drafts the legal instruments - turning high-risk manual advice into a repeatable product.

The problem

New law, manual work, real liability

Biodiversity net gain, conservation covenants, the UK ETS - the rules are new, the data sits in registries and ecologists' spreadsheets, and the instruments are drafted from scratch each time.

Every manual step carries greenwashing risk. Verifying chain of title on credits, proving a 10% net gain, evidencing a 30-year management plan: get any of it wrong and the advice itself becomes the liability.

The solution

Registry-grade evidence, drafted into law

GreenLedger connects to the UK Land Carbon Registry for legal-grade chain of title, validates ecologist data against the statutory metric, and tracks every habitat from baseline to net gain.

When the numbers stand up, the platform drafts the instruments - conservation covenants, s106 packs, habitat banking agreements - to current legislation, with the evidence attached. Advice becomes an artefact the client can file.

Baseline to net gain - every habitat, every unit, evidenced.
What changes

Environmental advice, before and after

Credits taken on trustChain of title checked at the registry
Net gain asserted in a reportNet gain evidenced unit by unit
Instruments drafted from scratchDrafted to current legislation, evidence attached
Bespoke advice, priced bespokeA fixed-fee product line
Why it pays

Defensible green advice, sold as a product.

Environmental work is where firms are asked to certify things the old toolkit cannot prove. A platform that carries the evidence lets a practice sell defensible, fixed-fee products - BNG packs, credit verification, covenant drafting - instead of open-ended hours.

It also compounds: every credit verified and every covenant drafted makes the product, and the practice behind it, harder to compete with.
